2/25/2008 Math 2a
1. HOMEWORK Due today: P47 #1
2. Warm-Ups: Consumer Math
3. Page 43 4.3 Scaling Up (modified)

OBJECTIVE: 1.1.4 Understand the concept of direct proportion. 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity and its relationship to congruence. 1.3.3 Describe the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. 1.3.4 Apply a combination of translations and/or reflections to 2 dimensional figures. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Students will do a variation of the 4.2 lesson on scaling up. They will complete 4.2 and then apply the same process to sheets 12x24(inches), 16x24(inches) and 18x24(inches) Show all work, label answers. NOTES: Develop scale factors for both dimensions, determine which is the best fit for each. HOMEWORK: Page 47 #2

3. Page 44 Investigation 4.3 all w/partners

ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Page 44 Investigation 4.3 all w/partners. Students will work with enlargements and reductions as influenced by the size of paper available in a copier. NOTES: HOMEWORK: P48 3 and 4
