1. HOMEWORK Due today: None
2. Warm Ups - Consumer Spending
3. Space Bunny - dictate
OBJECTIVE: 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity and its relationship to congruence. Describe the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Give the coordinates of the space bunny (2,1)(5,3)(2,4)(3,3)(1,3)(2.1) for students to plot and then give a set of rules which will move and/or alter the space bunny (in 4 quadrants) NOTES: Review integer operations. HOMEWORK: Write a rule to make a similar (larger or smaller) space bunny. Plot both.
2/20/2008 Math 2a
1. HOMEWORK Due today: Write a rule to make a similar (larger or smaller) space bunny. Plot both.
2. Warm Ups - Consumer Spending
3. Page 32 Investigation 3.3 (lab Sheet)
OBJECTIVE: 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity and its relationship to congruence. Describe the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Divide shapes into similar shapes (emphasis on similar) Do problem 3.3 and follow up We will use a modification which will require assembling four into one. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Pp33-34 2-5
2/21/2008 Math 2a
1. HOMEWORK Due today: Pp33-34 2-5
2. Warm Ups - Consumer Spending
3. Pp36-37 11-14 all
OBJECTIVE: 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity and its relationship to congruence. Describe the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Students will move from shapes to simulated buildings to show a continuation of the skills of similarity. Emphasize the relationship with proportion and scale factor. NOTES: HOMEWORK: P37 #15

1. HOMEWORK Due today: P37 #15
2. Consumer Spending
3. P174 Additional Practice Investigation 3
4. Discuss transformations.
OBJECTIVE: 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity and its relationship to congruence. Describe the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: P174 Additional Practice Investigation 3. Time permitting, discuss transformations such as translations, rotations and reflection. NOTES: HOMEWORK: P47 #1
