1. HOMEWORK Due today: None
2. Unit Test - Finish
3. Equations and expressions Practice
OBJECTIVE: 1.5.1 Apply knowledge of linear relationships to recognize, extend, and/or create patterns in tables and graphs. 1.5.2 Determine a rule for linear patterns and sequences with combinations of two operations in the rule. 4.2.2 Represent numerical, measurement, geometric, probability, statistical, and/or algebraic information in graphs or other appropriate forms. 5.1.2 Relate and use different mathematical models and representations of the same situation. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Finish the VAP Unit Test NOTES: HOMEWORK: None
11/27/2007 Math 2a
1. Integer operations - all four review
2. Inequalities
3. Problem Solving exercises
OBJECTIVE: 1.1.3 Understand and use the inverse property of addition on integers (W) and the inverse property of multiplication on non negative decimals or fractions. 1.1.5 Understand the meaning of addition and subtraction of integers. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Review integer operations and start on inequalities. Start on problem solving exercises with/without equations. NOTES: HOMEWORK: TBA
11/28/2007 Math 2a
1. Estimation
2. Estimation and problem solving
OBJECTIVE: Apply estimation strategies involving addition and subtraction of integers and the four basic operations on non negative decimals and fractions to predict results or determine reasonableness of answers ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Review estimation strategies. Apply to problem solving examples. NOTES: HOMEWORK: TBA

1. P5ff Problem 1.1
OBJECTIVE: 1.4.1 Understand the concepts of complementary, independent, and mutually exclusive events 1.4.2 Understand and apply the procedures for determining the probabilities of multiple trials. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT:P5ff Problem 1.1 start in the What Do You Expect? book. NOTES: Emphasis on Fractional probabilities and then converting to decimal and percentage probabilities. 1.2.1 Analyze how a change in a linear dimension affects other linear measurements (perimeter, circumference) and area measurements. HOMEWORK: Pp13-15 1-7

2, Page 7 Problem 1.2 all
OBJECTIVE: 1.4.1 Understand the concepts of complementary, independent, and mutually exclusive events 1.4.2 Understand and apply the procedures for determining the probabilities of multiple trials. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: start on problem 1.2 which starts to deal with the ideas of experimental and theoretical probability. Need to introduce mutually exclusive and complementary events as well.
