11-19-2007 Math 2a
1. Equations and expressions
2. P62 Problem 5.1 Plotting the 4 sets (x=-5 to +5)
3. Page 67 #7
OBJECTIVE: 1.5.1 Apply knowledge of linear relationships to recognize, extend, and/or create patterns in tables and graphs. 1.5.2 Determine a rule for linear patterns and sequences with combinations of two operations in the rule. 4.2.2 Represent numerical, measurement, geometric, probability, statistical, and/or algebraic information in graphs or other appropriate forms. 5.1.2 Relate and use different mathematical models and representations of the same situation. 1.2.5 Use formulas to determine measurements related to circles, triangles, and rectangular prisms. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Page 67 #7. This is an exercise comparing rates using tables and graphs and making equations. Problem 5.1 is modified to be more in alignment with WASL specifications and the requirements of Algebra. Students will be expected to make tables from equations by substitution then to plot these data on a chart in sets of three. Technology available will mean students will also plot using a graphing program (not Excel). NOTES: WinPlot is a free graphing program. HOMEWORK: Functions and Graphs A
11-20-2007 Math 2a
1. HOMEWORK Due today: Functions and Graphs A
2. Warm-Ups: 2 step equations
3. Finish 5.2 if appropriate
4. Pp79-81 Unit Test
