1. HOMEWORK Due today: Page 41 #1
2. Warms ups - basic skills (3÷1)
3. P40 Intro to comparing volumes Problem 4.3 start
OBJECTIVE: 1.1.4 Understand the concept of direct proportion.1.2.1 Analyze how a change in a linear dimension affects other linear measurements (perimeter, circumference) and area measurements. 1.2.6 Understand and apply strategies to obtain reasonable estimates of circle measurements, right triangles, and surface area for rectangular prisms. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: 3. P40 Intro to comparing volumes Problem 4.3 start. Need to review process building to area and volume and accumulate notes/formulas etc. Practice sample problems. NOTES: Prep for 4.3 changing volumes HOMEWORK: Page 44 13a

3. P40 Problem 4.3 start Juice Box
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Start on the actual juice box assignment. Review the parameters; review finding dimensions. List requirements for nets also. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 44 13b

3. Soda Box from can (r=3cm h=12cm)
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Soda Box from can (r=3cm h=12cm). Using processes from 4.3 students will give the dimensions for a 'soda box' based on a can of pop (r=3cm h=12cm) NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 45 #2 (due on 5-21)

2. Cryptogram (random number substitution code)
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Students will complete the random number subsittions code AND solve the contained problems. NOTES: HOMEWORK: None additional
