This week...

10-16-2006 Math 2a bring a calculator
1. HOMEWORK Due today: None
2. Warm-Ups: Measure Drill (with sheet)
3. P62 Problem 5.1 Plotting the 4 sets (x=-5 to +5) completion (if needed)
4. P5ff Problem 1.1 start

OBJECTIVE: 1.5.2 Apply understanding of linear patterns in a table, graph, or situation to develop a rule; 1.5.4 Apply understanding of equations, tables, and graphs to represent situations involving linear; relationships; 1.5.5 Understand and apply procedures to evaluate expressions and formulas considering order of operations 1.4.1 Understand the concepts of complementary, independent, and mutually exclusive events 1.4.2 Understand and apply the procedures for determining the probabilities of multiple trials. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Finish . P62 Problem 5.1 Plotting the 4 sets (x=-5 to +5) completion (if needed) and then start on P5ff Problem 1.1 start in the What Do You Expect? book. NOTES: Emphasis on Fractional probabilities and then converting to decimal and percentage probabilities. 1.2.1 Analyze how a change in a linear dimension affects other linear measurements (perimeter, circumference) and area measurements. HOMEWORK: Pp13-15 1-7

10-17-2006 Math 2a bring a calculator
1. HOMEWORK Due today: Pp13-15 1-7
2. Warm-Ups: Measure Drill (with sheet)
3. Finish Problem 1.1
4. Page 7 Problem 1.2 all

OBJECTIVE: 1.4.1 Understand the concepts of complementary, independent, and mutually exclusive events 1.4.2 Understand and apply the procedures for determining the probabilities of multiple trials. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Finish problem 1.1 and start on problem 1.2 which starts to deal with the ideas of experimental and theoretical probability. Need to introduce mutually exclusive and complementary events as well. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 19 #18
