1. HOMEWORK Due today: P92 #13 Handout
2. Warm-Ups: 2-step equations/inequalities
3. P59ff 3, 5b, 5c, 6

OBJECTIVE: 1.1.4 Understand the concept of direct proportion. 1.1.2 Understand the relative values of rational numbers. 1.4.3 Apply data collection processes to inform, persuade, or answer questions 1.4.4 Understand how variations in data may affect the choice of data analysis techniques used. 1.5.5 Understand and apply procedures to evaluate expressions and formulas considering order of operations. 1.5.6 Understand and apply a variety of strategies to solve two-step equations with one variable. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Solve problems P59ff 3, 5b, 5c, 6. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 63 #12

Circle Graph of class gender (boys vs. girls)

For all calculations, show the formula (if applicable), show the problem entered into the calculator or the computer, label the answer.

  1. Survey the class, count and sort by gender

    Total Students Boys Girls
    32 17 15

  2. Determine the percentages by gender: _________% boys _________% girls (2 calculations)
  3. Change percents to degrees in a circle (1 circle = 360°) (2 calculations)
  4. Draw* circle, mark segments by degrees, color and label sections.
*No sketching, no freehand. Use a compass or a guide, measure degrees with a protractor.
