1. HOMEWORK Due today: Page 38 #16
2. Page 43 Problem 4.2 all
3. Page 44 Problem 4.3 all
OBJECTIVE: 1.3.1 Understand the concept of similarity. 1.3.2 Apply understanding of the characteristics of rectangular prisms and circles 1.3.3 Understand the location of points on a coordinate grid in any of the four quadrants. 1.3.4 Understand and apply combinations of translations (slides) and reflections (flips) to two-dimensional figures. 1.1.4 Understand the concept of direct proportion. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: These two lessons serve to reinforce the processes for determining scale factor. Emphasis must be on the idea of a FACTOR - the number in a multiplication problem remembering large >1, same = 1 and smaller <1 NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 47 1&2

2. Introduction to proportions-Worksheet
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Introduction to proportion and the use of the proportion equations. Introduction to proportion and scale (as opposed to scale factor) NOTES: HOMEWORK: P52 #12

Solving Proportions

1. HOMEWORK Due today:P52 #12
2. Progress Report Returned
3. P45 Problem 4.4 Map Scales
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Students will learn to apply scale factor to maps instead of geometric figures. Also after the first segment, review with the use of proportion. NOTES: Small group a/b/c HOMEWORK: Follow-Up P46
1-12-2007 Math 2a

1. HOMEWORK Due today: Follow-Up P46
2. Game Character move
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: On a sheet of graph paper, Design a video game character (emphasis on intersection points); Create a rule to enlarge/shrink and move the character. The movement must be after the enlargement/shrinking and cannot occupy the same space but must remain on the paper. The RULE must be included. Point tables are not required. NOTES: Show model Graphic - Monday - review 4.4 with proportion. HOMEWORK: None
