2. Scaling practice Sketch to Drawing
3. Proportion warm up

OBJECTIVE: •To use the definition of similarity to recognize when figures are similar •To determine the scale factor between similar figures to find the lengths of corresponding sides[1.1.4] •To find a missing measurement in a pair of similar figures[1.1.4] •To use the relationship between scale factor and area to find the area of a figure that is similar to a figure of a known area •To solve problems that involve scaling up and down[1.1.4][1.2.5][1.3.1][1.3.2][5.1.1] ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Complete Proportion Warm up; Revisit the dimension scaling exercise from last week as a prep for making a scale drawing. NOTES: HOMEWORK: P58 #3&4

2. SetUp for scale drawing on plain paper.

OBJECTIVE: See 12-20 above. ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Students will begin to make a scale drawing from their sketch. The initial requirement wil be that the longest wall must be 5-5/8" scale size on a piece of plain 8-1/2 x 11 paper. This is NOT a sketch. Students are to maintain a calculation log.
