1. -HW P24 #1........
2. -Sector Measure...
OBJECTIVE: •To develop strategies for finding experimental
probabilities with a new simulation tool: spinners •To
understand that to make good decisions based on experimental
probabilities, the probabilities must be based on a large
number of trials[1.4.8][1.4.9] ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT:
Dividing circles to represent spinners from the experimental
data. Students will take hypothetical experimental results and
determine the sector size of the spinner. Math concept =
fraction (results/totalspins) to decimal x 360 then measure
with protractor on circle. NOTES: Period 6 needs time to
finish 3.1 due to fire drill. [data sets available (out of 500)

[Run this program - use a number like 500 or 1000. When the pop-up window opens, move the window border and see if you can line up the bars. Prime numbers do not follow a pattern - hence they are RANDOM]
[Use this program to come up with simulated experimental data for spinners.]

2. -Page 30 Problem 4.1+follow-up.
OBJECTIVE: •To understand the two ways to obtain probabilities:
by gathering data from experiments (experimental probability)
and by analyzing possible and favorable outcomes (theoretical
probability)[1.4.2] •To understand the relationship between
experimental and theoretical probabilities: when an
experimental probability is based on a large number of trials,
it is a good estimate of the theoretical probability •To
develop strategies for finding theoretical probabilities, such
as making an organized list of all possible outcomes •To
develop an understanding of the word random

4.1 and follow-up NOTES: Demo/model THEORETICAL and
EXPERIMENTAL and be sure to explain 'simulated' experimental.
