1. =MathFactDrill...
OBJECTIVE:[1.3.3][1.5.1] #To collect data from an experiment
and then make a table and a graph to organize and represent the
data #To search for explanations for patterns and variations in
data #To understand that a variable is a quantity that changes
and to recognize variables in the real world #To understand
that in order to make a graph that shows the relationship
between two variables, you need to identify the two variables,
choose an axis for each, and select an appropriate scale for
each axis #To interpret information given in a graph
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Do the Math Fact Drill. Review/Introduce
variables and coordinate graphs - Notetaking required. Start on
Problem 1.1 page 6 in the Book 'Variables and Patterns' NOTES:
Math fact mastery is demonstracted by a score of 95% or 100% on
3 consecutive testing days. Be sure each student has a data
set. HOMEWORK: Define TABLE and COORDINATE GRAPH both from the
book and in your own words also P14 #5 (due Wednesday)

1. =District Skills Test..
OBJECTIVE: District basic computation exam.
ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Basic computation skills exam. NOTES:
Possible crytogram filler. HOMEWORK: See Wednesday

2. -HW Page 14#5 & define TABLE and COORDINATE GRAPH...
OBJECTIVE: See 9-8 above.[1.4.3] ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: Finish
follow-up on page 7 if not already done. Introduce and start on
P7, 1.2 'Making Graphs.' Provide students with a sheet of graph
paper to reproduce the information presented in the text, i.e.,
a 1st quadrant graph. Continue with 1.2 on the reverse side of
the graph paper. Student need to use rulers to draw lines.

3. -Page 9 Problem 1.2 Graph....
OBJECTIVE: See 9-8 above. [2.1.2] ACTIVITIES/ASSESSMENT: ACE
questions with partners: P12ff; #4; #6. Use #6 as an
introduction to measures of central tendency - MEAN, MEDIAN,
MODE NOTES: Cent. Tend. is a 6th grade goal. No materials in
7th CMP. Can supplement from Glencoe. Collect some class data -
e.g. height, weight, age #sibs #pets to use as the baseline
data. Arrange for all students to gather set. Glencoe P104ff,
Mean, Median and Mode. Do page 106 NOTES: Be sure students have appropriate notes! HOMEWORK: Measures of
central tendencies (handout)
In the following problems you will have to a) put them in order from least to greatest; b) calculate the mean; c) find the median; and d) find the mode:
1. 4 2 5 8 9 9 3 6 3 0 2 3
2. 62 16 40 2 31 46 61 31 93 40 67 77 97 30 18 83 16 76 90 60
