    • 8. Serafina is walking a total distance of 4¾ miles (mi). If she walks at a rate of 2½ mi/hr, how long will it take her to complete the 4¾ mi. distance?
    • 9. Mary's father asked her to mow their lawn while he was at work. She mowed 1/3 of the lawn, watched a game show on television, mowed ¼ of the lawn, lay in the hammock for an hour, mowed 2/10 of the lawn, and then went for a swim in her friend's pool. Her father arrived home from work to find that she had not finished the lawn. How much was left un-mowed?
    • 10. The Caplans have a rectangular backyard that measures 12 ft. long and 18¾ wide. They want to fence it in. How much fencing will they need?
