    1. -HW Dot-to-Dot Picture..
    2. =Page 8-9 Problem 1.1and Follow-Up..

    OBJECTIVE:[#To review the use of coordinates for specifying locations; #To use coordinates to specify directions and distance; #To connect properties of geometric shapes, such as parallel sides, to coordinate representations.] ACTIVITIES:Page 8, Problem 1.1 'Driving around Euclid'; Page 9, Follow-Up 1.1 1-3 NOTES:Band students need to complete the picture from 3-22* HOMEWORK: Catch up

    For students absent Friday, 3-22.......
    • On a sheet of graph paper, subdivide into 4 quadrants.
    • Design a picture to fit in all 4 quadrants. It must be a picture, no initials, no logos, no space aliens.
    • You have to plan ahead because the picture must be drawn with 1 continuous line.
    • You must change directions at each dot.
    • There is a MINIMUM of 50 dots.
    • Be sure to connect your dots as you draw and NUMBER them.
    • Do not show it to your friends/neighbors at this time. They might have to reconstruct it.

    1. None

    OBJECTIVE: See 3-25 above. Coordinate graphing. ACTIVITIES: Students will make a sequential list of the coordinates for each point in their dot-to-dot picture on a separate sheet of paper. Place the numbers in columns taking care to label the negative numbers clearly. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Finish the coordinate listing.

    1. -Dot-to-Dot Coordinates.

    OBJECTIVE: Graph translations on a coordinate plane(11-8, P446ff, GLENCOE) ACTIVITIES:[Distribute Progress Report #12] From the GLENCOE text. Introduce, model and practice graphing translations (slides) on a coordinate plane. Students should take careful notes for the process. Model guided practice 4-7. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Pages 448-449 8-12

    2. -Dot-to-Dot Reconstruct.

    OBJECTIVE: See 3-25 above. ACTIVITIES: Reconstruct a dot-to-dot puzzle from a set of coordinates. compare with original. Check for errors. NOTES: HOMEWORK: GLENCOE Page 661 lesson 11-8, even numbers
