    4. -Partner Quiz a......
    5. =Partner Quiz b......

    OBJECTIVE: [#To use knowledge about percents and fractions to generate data; #To explore a new type of graph model and to compare it to those used previously; #To use a graph model to make predictions; #To continue to develop the idea of using a graph to model the trend in a data set.] ACTIVITIES: Correct/Score The additional practice worksheets and the partner quizzes. NOTES: HOMEWORK: None

    Note: At the present time, these exercises are concerned with the following:
      1) Linear relationships and the equation y = mx + b where m is defined as the slope or steepness of the straight-line graph and which can be determined from a table by observing a constant rate of change in the two variables and b is the y-intercept, or where the graph crosses the y-axis.
      2) Non-linear relationships where the equation frequently shows an inverse or reversed relationship. Most of the items we are investigating at the present time involve division by a variable. These graphs are normally represented by a curve.
      3) Trends--which means drawing a line or a curve which "best fits" the data so an equation can be determined and predictions can be made.
