OBJECTIVE: Graph linear functions by plotting points(11-4,
Pp432ff)[5.1.1][5.1.2][1.5.3] ACTIVITIES: Studnrts are to make
a paper airplane for their group. They will then conduct a
number of trials to determine if there is a relationship
between the height of the launch and the linear distance of the
flight. Conduct several trials with different launchers. Plot
the data. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Analyse the data - is there a
relationship? What is it? 5-22-2001
OBJECTIVE: Solve systems of linear equations by graphing.
(11-5, Pp435ff)[5.1.1][5.1.2][1.5.3] ACTIVITIES: Follow the
text model for determining x-y values and plotting hte points.
Emphasize the intersection as shared solutions. Start on the
homework assingment in class to varify procedures. NOTES:
HOMEWORK: P611(11-5)c2&3 5-23-2001
OBJECTIVE: Graph quadratic functions(11-7,
Pp442ff)[5.1.1][5.1.2][1.5.3] ACTIVITIES: From Text - P444 4-7
NOTES: HOMEWORK: Page 611 (11-7) #11 5-24-2001
OBJECTIVE: Enrichment exercises - Slope and
intercept.[5.1.1][5.1.2] ACTIVITIES: Review procedures related
to slope and intercept - changing the values of A and B in the
equations y=Ax+B. Grade to be based on partiicpation - not
accuracy. NOTES: HOMEWORK: Summarize either what you learned
or what confused you most. 5-25-2001
OBJECTIVE: Graph translations on a coordinate plane(11-8,
Pp446)[1.5.2][1.5.3] ACTIVITIES: As per text(P446ff) NOTES: Students need
graph papers. [Need Graph Paper?] click it for more information!
