4. .................5. .................6. .................
OBJECTIVE: Review area by probability((9-9) ACTIVITIES: 1)
Walk through 9-9A.(See page 366 'bell ringer') 2) Do parts of
the Study Guide and Review as in- class and HW. 20-37 NOTES:
[Period 3 needs to have the y-group submit their dartboard
projects. HOMEWORK: Pp368-370 SG&R 20-37
5-9-2000
1. HW368-370SG&R pt.2. P376-377(10-1A)..3. .................
4. .................5. .................6. .................
OBJECTIVE: Build and draw 3-dimensional figures given the
front, top and side views (10-1A, Pp376-377) ACTIVITIES:
Students will cluster desks to share cubes but MUST WORK
INDEPENDENTLY! NOTES: HOMEWORK: Draw(not sketch) a 7" by 9"
grid with 1/2" squares.(NOT on graph paper)
5-10-2000
1. HW Grid..........2. P379-380 8-13....3. .................
4. .................5. .................6. .................
OBJECTIVE: Draw 3-dimensional figures(10-1, Pp378ff)
ACTIVITIES: Model the relationship between orthographic and
isometric views (including perspective). Discuss 'hidden'
lines. Students do page 379-380 8-13 NOTES: HOMEWORK: P380

4. .................5. .................6. .................
OBJECTIVE: Find the surface area of regular prisms (10-3,
Pp383ff) ACTIVITIES: Discuss and demonstrate surface area
models with a rectangular prism. Explain the surface 2-D
models (the fold ups) Have students use their 1/2" grid paper
to create a 2-dimensional "fold-up" of a rectangular rism.
NOTES: HOMEWORK: Fold-up Stair-step: draw and cut out - DO NOT
ASSEMBLE
5-12-2000
1. HW Stair Fold....2. Surface area.....3. .................
4. .................5. .................6. .................
OBJECTIVE: Determine surface area from the model. ACTIVITIES:
Count the number of 1/2" squares on the exterior of the model.
Determine how the information can be recorded so that none is
missed and/or duplicated. When all counted, review the method
of converting 1/2 inch squares into square inches (and other
units). Start class on the turret fold model (1/2" squares)
NOTES: HOMEWORK: Start on turret fold (1. Do grid sheet of
1/2" squares. 2. Construct 2-D layout 3. cut out and check by
folding for completeness. 4. Determine surface area by counting
squares. 5. Assemble! This will also be worked on in class (to
finish assembly) on Monday 5-15
